PUBG Corp, the Programmer of Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG), has reported $920 million (Approximately Rs. 6,362 crores) in revenue in 2018.
This translated to a whopping profit of $310 million (approximately Rs. 2,143 crores) in a single year for PUBG Corp.. It’s no surprise that a great majority of this revenue comes via PUBG for PC. That is because PC is where PUBG was initially released and that the mobile variant of the game is manufactured by Tencent Games and not PUBG Corp.. PUBG is a battle royale game in which up to 100 players are paradropped to a island and the last person or group standing wins.
PUBG Corp’s revenue figures come via VG247, which seen the amounts on Naver Sports. The report says that PUBG for PC earned the developer $790 million (approximately Rs. 5,463 crores) in 2019. Revenues from the games and mobile versions of this game were comparable — $60 million (roughly Rs. 414 crores) and $65 million (roughly Rs. 450 crores) respectively.
It’s essential to note that PUBG Mobile is developed by Tencent Games, and that the provider is very likely to be earning the majority of the money from the sport. PUBG Corp is in all probability getting yearly licensing fees or a share of their revenue from Tencent Games.
The report states that PUBG is most popular in Asia because the region earned 53 percent of their match’s revenue. North America, remainder of the planet, and Europe would be another big contributors to PUBG Corp’s earnings.
