US space agency NASA Will start Its Own Attempt to Reestablish communication with the Mars rover Opportunity.
In a current announcement , NASA said it would start a 45-day effort of active attempts to restore communications using Opportunity once heavens over the rover stuck to a decent degree, Xinhua reported.
The rover was out of touch since early June, when a significant dust storm strikes the rover of solar energy and the storm is slowly evaporating.
“The dust haze made by this Martian global dust storm of 2018 is still among the very extensive on listing, but all signs are it’s coming to a close,” explained Rich Zurek, project scientist for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter.
Zurek said in the announcement that there was no symptoms of dust storms over 3,000 kilometers of Opportunity”for a certain time.”
John Callas, Opportunity job director at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, said in a statement that”supposing we hear back from Opportunity, we’ll start the process of its own standing and bringing it back on line.”
But, NASA’s strategy attracted criticism since it restricted the busy area of the retrieval to 45 days.
Callas reported that if Opportunity didn’t respond to communications efforts then 45-day effort, it probably meant the spacecraft had endured a mission-ending malfunction.
“We are going to keep trying to receive our Martian buddy back online. We won’t give up on #Oppy even following the 45 times of program we’ve set in position!”
