TikTok Says Removed Over 49 Million Videos in Second Half of 2019

Social media Program TikTok said on Thursday it removed Greater than 49 million videos from its Stage in the second half of the year for violating its guidelines.

These videos accounted for less than 1 percent of the overall published on the stage and dropped under categories like”violent and picture content, hate speech and adult nudity”, it stated in a report released on its site.

About one-third of those movies were from India, followed by the United States, and Pakistan, it included.

The transparency report comes days after the company owned by China’s ByteDance was banned by India, one of its biggest markets, after a Sino-India boundary battle. The short-form video making program also decided to depart the Hong Kong market after China’s institution of a sweeping new national safety law for its semi-autonomous city.

TikTok launched a new platform to court small business advertisers on Wednesday.
