Redmi K40 Launch Rumoured for Q4 2020, Redmi K40 Pro Tipped for Q1 2021

The new development comes only days after purported specifications of this Redmi K40 surfaced online. The new Redmi phone is speculated as the successor to the Redmi K30 which has been launched in December in both 4GB and 5G versions. Alongside the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro, Xiaomi is in the rumour mill for the Redmi K30 Ultra. The organization, however, hasn’t provided any clarity on some of the three rumoured versions.

In accordance with the tipster that has submitted the particulars on Weibo, the normal Redmi K40 will launch in China in the fourth quarter of this year. Xiaomi can also be thought to possess the Redmi K40 Pro from the plans that could arrive sometime in the first quarter of next year.

The tipster claims that the Redmi K40 will include a Qualcomm chipset carrying out a model number SM7350. This is believed to be a fresh Qualcomm Snapdragon 775 SoC. This particular model is believed to be powered by Qualcomm’s top notch, Snapdragon 875 SoC that could release either late this year or early next year.

A previous report suggested the Redmi K40 would come with the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC. However, that chipset might be a part of this Redmi K30 Ultra instead.

The Redmi K40 is also supposed to have 33W charging support, if we believe a current 3C listing. The phone is also very likely to run a brand new MIUI version.

Xiaomi has not revealed any information about the Redmi K40 and Redmi K40 Pro. Also, Gadgets 360 wasn’t able to independently verify the claims made by the tipster. It is, therefore, safe to choose the most recent rumour using a pinch of salt.
